Getting Started

AppDesk connects directly to Apple's App Store Connect API. To get started you'll need to generate an API key from your App Store Connect account.

  1. Log in to App Store Connect and navigate to Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API.
  2. Generate a new API key. You'll receive an Issuer ID, a Key ID, and a .p8 private key file.
  3. Open AppDesk and enter your Issuer ID, Key ID, and Vendor ID, then select your .p8 file.
  4. Click Sync to pull your sales data, revenue, and reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my data stored?+

All data is stored locally on your Mac. AppDesk does not use any cloud servers or third-party services to store your data. Your API credentials are securely stored in the macOS system Keychain.

How does the AI review feature work?+

AppDesk uses on-device AI (Apple Intelligence) to generate review responses and categorize reviews. All processing happens locally on your Mac — your review data is never sent to external servers.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?+

The free version gives you access to the last 30 days of sales data, 1 year of review history, and limited AI responses. Pro unlocks unlimited history, unlimited AI features, multi-currency display, and CSV export. Pro requires a one-time in-app purchase — no subscription required.

Can I try AppDesk before connecting my account?+

Yes. AppDesk includes a Demo mode with sample data so you can explore the full interface before entering your App Store Connect credentials.

How often does data sync?+

AppDesk uses incremental sync — each sync only pulls data that's new since your last sync. You can also run a historical sync to backfill all available data from App Store Connect. Sales data from Apple is typically available with a 24-hour delay.

Which macOS versions are supported?+

AppDesk requires macOS 26 or later. It is built natively with SwiftUI for optimal performance on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Can I export my data?+

Yes. Pro users can export any chart or data view to CSV for further analysis in spreadsheets or other tools.

What permissions does the API key need?+

AppDesk requires an App Store Connect API key with at least Sales and Reports access to pull sales data and Customer Reviews access to manage reviews. We recommend using a read-only key where possible. See our Setup Guide for detailed instructions.

Troubleshooting

Sync is not returning any data

  • Verify your Issuer ID, Key ID, and Vendor ID are correct.
  • Make sure the .p8 key file has not been modified or corrupted.
  • Check that your API key has the required permissions in App Store Connect.
  • Apple's sales data has a ~24 hour delay, so today's data won't appear until tomorrow.
  • Follow our Setup Guide to verify your configuration step by step.

AI review responses are not working

  • On-device AI requires macOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence enabled.
  • Ensure Apple Intelligence is turned on in System Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri.
  • The device must meet Apple's hardware requirements for on-device AI processing.

App crashes or won't launch

  • Make sure you're running the latest version of AppDesk from the Mac App Store.
  • Try restarting your Mac and launching AppDesk again.
  • If the issue persists, email us at feedback@rivolu.com with your macOS version and a description of what happened.
