App Store Connect MCP server for Claude Code and Codex

AppDesk MCP is a local MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, built into the AppDesk Mac app, that gives Claude Code, Codex and other MCP clients read-only access to your App Store Connect and Apple Ads data: sales, proceeds, downloads, subscriptions, customer reviews, ad spend and App Store chart rankings. AppDesk syncs the data from Apple to your Mac, and the MCP server reads that local copy, so your assistant can answer questions about your business without your API keys ever leaving the Mac.

What you can ask

  • How did installs last month compare with the same month last year?
  • Which countries drove this week's jump in sales?
  • Which Apple Ads keywords cost the most per install, and which bought nothing?
  • Summarize this month's one-star reviews and suggest fixes.
  • Which subscription plan lost the most subscribers this quarter, and where?
  • Which app earns the most per download in Germany?

Because the assistant also sees your project, you can combine App Store numbers with your code, release notes or a spreadsheet, for analysis the App Store Connect website can't do.

Set it up in a minute

  1. Install AppDesk on your Mac and connect your App Store Connect API key (setup guide).
  2. In AppDesk Settings, choose MCP and turn on the MCP server.
  3. Register it once in Terminal. For Claude Code:
claude mcp add --scope user appdesk -- '/Applications/AppDesk.app/Contents/Helpers/AppDeskMCP.app/Contents/MacOS/AppDeskMCP'
    For Codex:
codex mcp add appdesk -- '/Applications/AppDesk.app/Contents/Helpers/AppDeskMCP.app/Contents/MacOS/AppDeskMCP'
AppDesk shows the exact command for where it's installed. Other clients can add a local (stdio) server named “appdesk” that runs the same path, with no arguments.
  4. Open Claude Code or Codex in any folder and ask.

Tools and data

  • appdesk_describe: every table and column, the rules for reading them, example queries and when the data was last synced.
  • appdesk_query: one read-only SQLite SELECT, with the rows returned as JSON.

The data covers daily sales and proceeds by app, product and country; downloads and purchases from Apple's analytics reports; subscription totals and events; customer reviews; Apple Ads campaigns and keywords; and App Store chart rankings.

Private by design

  • Read-only: the assistant can't change anything in AppDesk or App Store Connect.
  • Your App Store Connect and Apple Ads keys stay in the Keychain and are never given to the assistant.
  • AppDesk uploads nothing. What your assistant reads goes to the assistant you chose, under its own terms.

Questions

Is there an MCP server for App Store Connect?

Yes. AppDesk MCP is a local MCP server built into the AppDesk Mac app. It gives Claude Code, Codex and other MCP clients read-only SQL access to your App Store Connect and Apple Ads data (sales, proceeds, downloads, subscriptions, reviews, ad spend and chart rankings) that AppDesk has synced to your Mac.

Does Claude Code or Codex get my App Store Connect API key?

No. AppDesk keeps your App Store Connect and Apple Ads keys in the Keychain and does the syncing itself. The assistant only reads the data AppDesk has already stored on your Mac.

Can the assistant change my apps or reply to reviews?

No. AppDesk MCP is read-only. It offers two tools: appdesk_describe, which explains the tables, and appdesk_query, which runs one read-only SQLite SELECT. Nothing in AppDesk or App Store Connect can be changed through it.

Which AI assistants work with AppDesk MCP?

Claude Code and Codex connect with one command that AppDesk shows in its MCP settings. Other clients that can run a local (stdio) MCP server can add a server named appdesk that runs the AppDeskMCP helper inside AppDesk, with no arguments or environment variables.

Does AppDesk MCP work on iPhone, iPad or Windows?

AppDesk MCP runs on the Mac (macOS 26 or later), where Claude Code and Codex run. AppDesk itself also runs on iPhone and iPad, without MCP. There is no Windows version.

How current is the data?

As current as AppDesk's last sync. Apple publishes sales reports with about a one-day delay. The appdesk_describe tool tells the assistant how recent each table is.

How much does AppDesk MCP cost?

AppDesk MCP is part of AppDesk Pro, a one-time in-app purchase; the App Store shows the price in your country. AppDesk is free to try for 60 days. There is no subscription.
